Going for a walk in Alger

In January we visited the city of Algiers in North Africa. It is a mysterious city.
It is built on hills and there are beautiful views, but the traffic is desperate.
The tiles you see in the doorways, courtyards and fountains came in ships as ballast.

My sister Elise made this map into a scarf, light and airy on silk chiffon.
